JÁNOS BALOGH (1937,
Pilisszentiván)
graphic artist Copper wire formation (copper graphics)
’ . . . the structurál characteristics inherentin the material
of the form denotethe possibility of forming.,
(György Lissák: About the form)
János
Balogh acquired his basics in drawing and painting at the Dési
Huber, VASAS, and MÁV art schools, as well as from his tutor
artist Boldizsár Tapolcsányi. From his profession in industry
and technology he ventured into the world of graphic arts, wood
carving, and sculpting. His distinctive artistic style is
hallmarked by his innovative method of shaping copper wire into
images. The gentle bend and metallic shine of the wire provide
his art with a picturesque expression. The effect is achieved by
the harmony between subject and material and fortified by the
security of forming.
